Fresh Figs Stuffed With Smoked Stilton or Goats Cheese & Walnuts

A truly delicious dish where the sweetness of the figs perfectly compliments the saltiness of the cheese. Either leave the smoked Prosciutto off for vegetarians or add it if you prefer a meatier option!



  • Prep Time: 5-10 minutes
  • Cook time: 12-15 minutes
  • Serves: 4 people as a light starter or 2 people as a main meal


  • Preheat the oven to 190°C/fan oven 170°C/Gas mark 5
  • Make a deep cross cut into the top of each fig
  • Stuff an equal amount of Smoked Stilton or Goats Cheese into each fig
  • Crush the walnuts on push them into the cheese
  • At this stage, if you choose to use Prosciutto, then wrap a slice around each fig
  • Place on a baking sheet and bake the figs for 12-15 minutes
  • Remove from oven and serve with the salad leaves
  • Pour any remaining juices from the baking tray over the figs
  • Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and olive oil, & finish with a grind of black pepper to taste
