Shortbread is a well-loved, classic biscuit, rich in butter and dense in texture. However, its tendency to heavily coat the mouth is not to everyone's liking, so Artisan Biscuits have created a lighter-eating shortbread. Equally rich and delicious as traditional shortbread, but made with a mixture of wheat and rice flour for a texture that is crunchy, and more delicate. The butter and hazelnuts make a very happy marriage of flavours - warm, mellow and more-ish. Hand baked using English butter and all natural ingredients.
Artisan Biscuits are a long-standing family bakery in the Peak District National Park, who started over 70 years ago. In that time, the world has changed dramatically; but, in the bakery, the way they bake biscuits is barely any different.
In the last 50 years, they have only had two Head Bakers and continue to use the same bronze rollers and biscuit-moulding method that they have for decades.
Perfect eaten on their own, with tea or a great cup of coffee!
