Discover this creamy Morbier cheese...

Morbier is a delicious French semi-soft cow’s milk cheese named after the small village of Morbier, in Franche-Comté. It is easily identifiable by its layer of blue/black edible vegetable ash, running horizontally through its middle. Traditionally, Morbier was made with a layer of evening milk curds, then a layer of ash was placed on top to protect it over night. The following morning, the morning milk curds would be added on top. Today, it is made by a single milking, and the ash is purely decorative!

This cheese takes approximately 45 days to 3 months for full maturation. When it's young, Morbier has a mild, rich and creamy flavour, with a nutty flavour. With age, it becomes richer and sharper with a more pronounced flavour.

An unpasteurised cheese that is not suitable for vegetarians.

Morbier serving suggestion...

Morbier is perfect on a cheese board (try with our fresh chilli jam which compliments it perfectly) but works equally well in a toasted cheese sandwich or melted on a burger!

Delivery address, including instructions if not going to be in:

Please ensure that either yourself or your recipient is able to take delivery of your order, or that specific delivery instructions are left for the courier to leave your parcel in a safe, dry place.

On the 'checkout page' there is a box where you can add specific delivery instructions (such as leave with neighbour at 17, in porch etc), which we will pass onto the courier, who at their discretion, will leave in a safe place.

Please note: we cannot be held responsible for parcels, which are undelivered or mis-routed due to incomplete/incorrect addresses given by the customer, due to customer/recipient not being available to receive shipment, due to an incorrect delivery date being chosen by customer, due to parcel going missing once left in a 'safe' place or due to deterioration of packaging if parcel left out in inclement weather.

Delivery day:

At checkout you will be able to select your preferred delivery date using the date picker. If for any reason, we are unable to deliver on that day, we will be in contact with you to arrange another suitable day.

We will advise you via email once your order has been dispatched containing further tracking information.

Unfortunately due to the perishable nature of our food, cost and logistics, we are currently unable to deliver to overseas destinations.

Personal message:

If you would like us to include a personal message with your order (at no extra charge) please write it in the Gift Message box at checkout.

Receipts & packing slips:

Please note; we do not include receipts as standard (as many orders are given as gifts) so please specify if you would like one. We do however include packing slips with orders which are clearly not intended as a gift.

Packaging & recycling:

All perishable products will be delivered in temperature controlled packaging, containing ice packs, to ensure products arrive in optimum condition. However, we can not be held responsible for deterioration of goods resulting from unsuccessful delivery due to customer error (e.g. person not available to receive shipment, instructions not left, incorrect address given etc).

We are currently trying to minimise our impact on the environment. Therefore the majority of our parcels will now not be delivered in plastic packaging, simply in a cardboard box using paper packaging tape and paper void fill where necessary (which can all be recycled with your kerbside recycling). If we can and if appropriate we will also try to reuse packaging, although this is not case for our hamper boxes which are always brand new!

Our ice packs can be reused for your own picnics / lunch boxes etc. They are filled with distilled water and can simply be poured down the drain if you would prefer not to reuse them, and the plastic outer recycled.

Storage of products:

To ensure your fresh food products remain in optimum condition, we strongly advise that once you have received your order, you immediately unpack the items and place any perishable products in the fridge. Please follow the instructions on the individual products, regarding 'use-by' and 'best before' dates, and storage.

Frequently Asked Questions...

General Queries:

Do I need to refrigerate my order when it arrives?

Yes, any perisahable/fresh food items will require refrigeration upon receipt.

All perishable food, be it in a hamper or not, will be sent with ice packs to ensure products arrive in optimum condition. We strongly advise that once you have received your order, you immediately unpack the items and place any perishable products in the fridge. A sticker will be included on your parcel, advising the recipient to do this.

Please follow the instructions on the individual products, regarding use by dates, best before dates and storage advice.

Can I include a personal gift message with my order?

Yes, at checkout there is a gift message box where you simply type your message as you would like it to be seen. We will print out your gift card, pop it in a little envelope and include it with your order, at no extra charge.

My order is a gift & I'm worried a receipt is going to be included?

Please don't worry! We do not include receipts as standard, as many orders are given as gifts (but please specify if you would like one).

However, we do tend to include packing slips with orders which are not hampers and are clearly not intended as a gift.

What packaging do you use - is it eco-friendly & recyclable?

Outer packaging: We are currently trying to minimise our impact on the environment. Therefore our parcels are delivered in cardboard boxes, using paper packaging tape and paper void fill where necessary (which can all be recycled with your kerbside recycling).

Ice packs: Our ice packs can be reused for your own picnics / lunch boxes etc. They are filled with distilled water and can simply be poured down the drain if you would prefer not to reuse them, and the plastic outer recycled.

Hampers & wood wool: Our hamper boxes are constructed from reinforced, coated card, which can be recycled. We use eco-friendly, kiln dried wood wool to protect the items within our hampers. Our wood wool is 100% natural and is made entirely from natural spruce wood cultivated from European forests that are PEFC approved. Not only is it natural and biodegradable, but it’s made using the excess bits of wood that might otherwise be thrown away. It can be recycled, reused, composted or burned completely!

Delivery Queries:

Where do you deliver & how?

We currently deliver to UK Mainland addresses, using our third-party courier service, usually DPD. Routinely we don't deliver to any Islands or the Scottish Highlands, due to courier restrictions. However, we would love to be able to accommodate all your requirements, so please get in contact with us to discuss your options.

Can I order now for a future delivery date?

Yes, we have a date-picker feature on our checkout page that enables you to select a delivery date of your choosing.

Does someone need to be in to accept delivery?

Please ensure that either yourself or your recipient is able to take delivery of your order. If this is not going to be possible then please include accurate delivery instructions to leave your parcel in a safe & dry place.

At checkout there is a box where you can add specific delivery instructions (such as leave with neighbour at 17, in porch etc), which we will pass onto the courier.

If you provide a mobile number, our couriers will send you a text message with tracking details & advising you of an estimated arrival time for your package.

Can I track my order?

Yes! Once your order is dispatched, we will email you with a tracking number. You can then track your order online with our courier.

If you have entered a UK mobile number on your order, and the delivery is in the UK, you will receive text message notifications from DPD with information about your delivery time slot.

Can I collect my order in person?

Yes, if you live locally to us and would like to collect your order you are very welcome to do so!

At checkout you are able to choose your collection day using our date-picker feature. We ask that collections are made on your chosen day between 10am - 2pm, unless otherwise arranged.
