Peruvian 121 Single Origin Coffee

£6.30
227g Ground
Description:

Coffeelink Peruvian 121 Single Origin Coffee is wonderful coffee with a lovely fragrance of ripe cherries and roasted nuts. It has a rich, rounded body and a delicious flavour of sweet cherries, with a hint hazelnut and chocolate.

The coffee is grown by a small farm of 3ha, at an altitude of 1315m, in the Cajamarca region of northwestern Peru. The farm is managed according to the Organic and Rainforest Alliance standards. The coffee is grown in the shade grown with the use of native and fruit trees.

Most of the coffee cherries were picked in August when their were at their optimum level of maturation and sweetness. The cherries are processed at the farm using a traditional method of fermentation tanks and eco pulpers. Typically the cherries are picked in the morning and processed (depulped and washed) the same day, usually in the late afternoon. This is to avoid any deteriotion of the quality of the coffee beans. The wet parchment is dried on raised beds until the right moisture is achieved to be transported to the Sol & Cafe collection point in the city of Jaen. Here there is a classification done according to quality of the parchment delivered to Sol & Cafe. This is where Sol & Cafe runs a system of rewarding farmers that deliver the highest quality, as is the case with these particular beans. Sol & Cafe will take care of the final stages of milling, grading and packing in Piura, before it is fully approved for export.

Coffeelink is a small privately owned family business who are based in Suffolk and are  passionate about high quality 100% Arabica coffee. To ensure they get the best out of their beans, they roast to an exacting standard in small batches to attain maximum freshness. This results in a truly great tasting cup of coffee!

Please note: we cannot be held responsible for parcels, which are undelivered or mis-routed due to incomplete/incorrect addresses given by the customer, due to customer/recipient not being available to receive shipment, due to an incorrect delivery date being chosen by customer, due to parcel going missing once left in a 'safe' place or due to deterioration of packaging if parcel left out in inclement weather.

Receipts & packing slips:

Please note; we do not include receipts as standard (as many orders are given as gifts) so please specify if you would like one. We do however include packing slips with orders which are clearly not intended as a gift.

Packaging & recycling:

All perishable products will be delivered in temperature controlled packaging, containing ice packs, to ensure products arrive in optimum condition. However, we can not be held responsible for deterioration of goods resulting from unsuccessful delivery due to customer error (e.g. person not available to receive shipment, instructions not left, incorrect address given etc).

We are currently trying to minimise our impact on the environment. Therefore the majority of our parcels will now not be delivered in plastic packaging, simply in a cardboard box using paper packaging tape and paper void fill where necessary (which can all be recycled with your kerbside recycling). If we can and if appropriate we will also try to reuse packaging, although this is not case for our hamper boxes which are always brand new!

Our ice packs can be reused for your own picnics / lunch boxes etc. They are filled with distilled water and can simply be poured down the drain if you would prefer not to reuse them, and the plastic outer recycled.

Storage of products:

To ensure your fresh food products remain in optimum condition, we strongly advise that once you have received your order, you immediately unpack the items and place any perishable products in the fridge. Please follow the instructions on the individual products, regarding 'use-by' and 'best before' dates, and storage.
